Federal judges get 6% pay rise

The Remuneration Tribunal has awarded a 6% pay rises to members of the federal judiciary. So whilst the lowest paid get nothing this year these guys get a big boost. Outrageous!

I'm more concerned about the fact that federal politicians have only received 1 payrise in the last 3 years.

If you want to attract talent to the political profession, you have to make it pay well.

Politicians are paid very well. I don't know how a person can be concerned about people earning well above average income as opposed to those who must struggle on the minimum wage.

Also, the recent pre-selection for Bradfield is a good example of how there are plenty of people wanting to get into federal politics.
