Now is the time to grow

With the impending Fair Work Act to come into force from 1 July 2009 now is the time for unions in Australia to get out into workplaces and show they are just as relevant in the 21st century as they have ever been. There are no more excuses for not organising workplaces and these news laws will be the ultimate test of union success - not all will survive.

The current Generation Y know very little about unions as they have lived most of their lives under conservative rule. We need to show them that Howard's lies and deception were just that. We need to show them that unions are not a bunch of scary, fat old men (although they do exist). Your typical union official is an educated professional and probably female. We're moving with the times. We need to make this count.

Do YOU even know what you are talking about...?

Do you even have anything to add. How about actually writing something, ANYTHING more than a sentence long.

Well, you took your time in posting my comment...

Busy watching bad t.v i assume...

You really don't have any idea...

Very sad really!

Scared....

I think so!

That should be P.P.S

I took my time because I am busy.

Your comments don't even make sense. How about just writing one, rather than three disjointed comments in a row?

I thought i would follow your lead with all your disjointed junk...

Why don't you do something about what you "type" about???

Get out there and make a change then...

Why not?

Talk the talk but mu guess is that's about all you can OR want to do!!!

Blogs are about writing disjointed junk.

I doubt you know me or know me very well. If you did you'd know what I do in my precious spare time I do have IS making a change politically and socially.

So here's an idea - tell me who you are so I can judge you, the same way you judge me!

Well, you already know me...

"precious spare time" - that's just another example of how YOU can't manage your time (truth is worth more than pride) "mate"

Really, you should learn to think more about what you type about...

I wasn't really judging you, more trying to help you from talking about things YOU don't have any idea about (such as the SDA Union).

Clue.....

Well I gave you a chance to say who you are to prove you actually know me but didn't take me up. Funny. And thanks for the cryptic clue. I don't know anyone who works for the SDA...might know some disgruntled former members and/or delegates.

Don't call me "mate".

Hmmm..let's see. I was a member of the SDA and dealt with their incompetence on a fairly regular basis. They have a conservative social agenda and their leadership are openly homophobic and pro-life. So yeah, I have an idea about them.

I don't think I am far off the mark in my comments and I have dealt with right-wing hacks long enough to know they're all of the same ilk.

And of course you are judging me. So don't say otherwise - it just makes you look foolish. Saying I am busy watching bad tv and "Very sad really". And saying I have poor time management skills. No, not "really judging" me at all.

Next you'll be saying the SDA actually is an organising union. A union that doesn't rely on employers to deduct union fees and allow them to to take a cut.

Come on MATE!

You can do better than that...

You pretend to know alot about things BUT i think we both know you don't have any idea.

Maybe go back - way back to school...

It's really easy to take a cheap shot at the SDA but from what you said it's easy to understand that you really know NOTHING!!! Nothing, about the SDA or others
unions in truth.

Mate

"musings" more like WANKING

SA (SDA)

Well this conversation is going nowhere fast. You've just repeated your same old tired lines from before.

I asked you to not call me "mate" since I am not friends with SDA people. It is fairly clear you work for or have a close association with the SDA and saying wankings makes it clear you're just getting more aggressive because you have no actual argument.

Saying I know nothing repeatedly doesn't make it so. It's pretty clear you know very little outside of your bubble. You don't debate me on the issues (eg SDA's homophobic attitude as espoused by Joe de Bruyn at ALP conferences), instead you just continually repeat your petty attacks on me.

This conversation is over because it's my blog and I tire of your repetitiveness and personal insults
